One Piece — the right order
Over 1,000 episodes, a dozen sagas, and a real amount of filler mixed in. Here's every saga in order, with a toggle to hide the filler arcs entirely.
13 sagas, 7 filler arcs

Episode numbers are approximate and shift slightly by region/streamer — always sanity-check the first and last episode against what's in front of you. Just want the skip list? See the filler list on its own page →
Every saga, in detail
Luffy assembles the original crew — Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji — one island at a time.
Anime-only detour before Alabasta — not in the manga, skip freely.
A desert kingdom's civil war, engineered by a Warlord who can turn anything to sand.
A one-off filler stop right after Alabasta with no bearing on the main plot.
The crew climbs into the clouds and finds a floating island with its own god complex.
A filler arc at a Marine base — no manga content, purely anime pacing.
A rematch with a filler villain from an earlier non-canon arc.
A shipwright's betrayal, a government stronghold, and the arc most fans call the series' best.
A ghost-ship graveyard run by a zombie-making surgeon who's after the crew's shadows.
The Navy's full force collides with the pirates for Ace's execution — the story's biggest turning point.
The crew descends underwater into a kingdom still carrying old scars from surface-world racism.
A poisoned island, a mad scientist, and the crew's first real team-up with another pirate crew.
A short tie-in to the One Piece Film: Z movie — optional even for completionists.
A toy kingdom hides a decade-old massacre and one of the series' most personal villains.
An island on the back of a giant elephant, and the backstory of the Mink tribe.
Sanji's estranged family and an arranged wedding turn into a hostage situation against Big Mom.
Anime-only bridge material between Whole Cake Island and Wano.
A samurai-era shogunate under a tyrant, and the biggest alliance the crew has ever built.
The current arc — a scientist's island lab and secrets about the world's ancient history.
Do you actually need to watch the filler?
No. Every arc marked filler above was made for the anime only — it doesn't come from Eiichiro Oda's manga and doesn't affect the main story. Skip it freely; nothing you learn there is required later. The one exception some fans make is Z's Ambition, a light tie-in to the One Piece Film: Z movie — still skippable, but worth a look if you're a completionist.
What about the movies?
Most of the 15+ One Piece films are non-canon side stories and can be watched (or skipped) any time. A small handful — One Piece Film: Red among them — are considered semi-canon by Oda himself. We're building a dedicated movie-order guide; check back soon.
